Things to Do in Jamaica
Beaches and Resorts
While Jamaica may not immediately bring reggae and Rastafari to mind, it is often associated with its stunning beaches. And indeed, the island has more than its fair share—some belonging to large hotel complexes or all-inclusive resorts. Whether private or public, the beaches are plentiful and should delight any beach lover. The majority of the island’s beach resorts are concentrated along the north coast, with the main hubs being Montego Bay, as well as Negril, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio.
Diving
As is often the case in the Caribbean, Jamaica’s waters boast beautiful underwater landscapes, with rich marine life, coral reefs, caves, and shipwrecks to explore. The north coast is the most interesting for diving. There are around fifty dive centers in Jamaica, and most of the north coast’s hotel complexes offer scuba diving, snorkeling, and guided underwater excursions. Whatever your preferences, skill level, or budget, you’ll have no trouble finding something to suit you.
