Nature-Adventure

With the exception of the Brisbane region, Queensland is perhaps Australia’s most "remote" state. That doesn’t mean its tourist appeal is limited—at least not near the coast. On the contrary, Australia’s northeast will delight beach and surf lovers (the "Gold Coast" near Brisbane), but above all, those seeking nature or adventure activities. First among these are the countless opportunities offered by the Great Barrier Reef and its islands, particularly off Cairns. There’s also plenty of choice for hiking through stunning landscapes along the coast or in the inland mountains, as well as excellent "4x4 adventure" options for enthusiasts (Cooloola, Cape York).

Culture

Queensland is undeniably a "nature destination" and offers very little in terms of cities and monuments. However, in its northern part (notably the Cape York Peninsula), you can discover Aboriginal culture and traditions.

Relaxation-Holidays

This is the state’s strong point and what has made part of its coastline famous, including places like Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast.
