Nature-Adventure

Culture

While the Mayan site of Copan, on the Guatemalan border, is Honduras's best-known heritage site, it is not the only one. Other places reflect the country's history, from its pre-Columbian period (Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve) to its colonial era. Several towns and villages (Comayagua, Gracias, Valle de Ángeles, etc.) still feature this typical architecture in their centres. Beyond these landmarks, it is also a country and diverse populations (Garifuna, Miskito, etc.) that are waiting to be discovered in an atmosphere that, along the coast, sometimes feels more Caribbean than Central American.

Relaxation-Holidays

It is on the Bay Islands, particularly Roatán, where this activity has developed, offering a reputation for beaches, diving, and nightlife.

Independent Travel

Given the security issues that can be encountered across much of the country (outside the islands), Honduras is more suited to experienced or even seasoned travellers.

Organised Travel

All-Inclusive

While Honduras is not at all an all-inclusive destination for French or most European travellers, it is one for North American and Québécois visitors. It is on the Bay Islands, particularly Roatán, where this activity has developed, offering a reputation for beaches, diving, and nightlife.
