Climate Overview
Uganda experiences relatively little regional climate variation, but temperatures differ significantly with altitude. In the southwestern highlands, nights can be quite chilly.
There are two rainy seasons (with high temperatures) across most of the country, roughly from March to early June and from October to December. These are the periods to avoid for travel, not least because many roads—even with a 4x4—become impassable or difficult to navigate. Areas around the lakes (Victoria, Albert, etc.) also tend to receive more rainfall than the interior.
