Finding the best time to visit involves balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices for travel and accommodation.
While the climate from mid-spring (late April/May) to early autumn (October) is ideal for visiting, the same cannot be said for crowds and rising prices. July and August are the worst months in this regard, especially along the coast and islands. To avoid these drawbacks, the shoulder seasons—late April to late June and September to early October—remain the most pleasant.
