When and Where to Go in Malta
Best Times to Visit Malta
Finding the best time to visit means balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices for travel and on-site expenses.
Generally, it’s not the climate that makes enjoying a stay in Malta difficult, but rather the tourist pressure the island experiences at certain times. July and August are by far the busiest months, followed by September and June, which also see significant crowds. Additionally, during short vacations or long weekends, Malta can sometimes experience a surge in visitors since the archipelago is small and allows for brief stays. In short, the shoulder seasons—from late March to mid-June and from late September to the end of October—are the most appealing, particularly for avoiding crowds and summer prices.
