When and Where to Go in Mexico
Best Times to Visit Mexico
Finding the best time to visit means balancing climate constraints with crowd levels and the most attractive prices, both on-site and for travel.
The dry season, from late October to late April, is the most favorable for exploring the country, though this varies by region and altitude—some places can be quite chilly at the start of the year. Overall, this avoids the intense heat in the north and the rains elsewhere, which can be problematic, especially on the coasts where humidity is also high during this period. However, around Christmas, Easter (Semana Santa), and "Spring Break," crowds peak along with prices. July and August also see higher visitor numbers.
In short, considering all factors, November to May is still the most recommended period, though it’s best to avoid Christmas/January and Easter for a quieter experience.
