Best Times to Visit the Czech Republic
Finding the best time to visit means balancing climate conditions with crowd levels and the most attractive prices for travel and accommodation.
While the period from May to September offers the best weather for exploring the country, the same can't be said for crowds and prices—especially in the capital. Accommodation rates in Prague can double during holidays or at Christmas, when the city is packed. In short, if you're only staying in Prague, it's best to avoid summer or weekends and opt for the shoulder season and weekdays instead. For a full tour of the country, however, May to September works well—just keep Prague's quirks in mind.
