Yo

So for me, it was tough tough. The theme opened up to so many types of photos and different parks... after all, a park is a place with trees and a garden is a place with plants—it leaves endless combinations 😛

🙂🙂🙂 Gaura 3 (Tulips) – we wanted a garden, and we got gorgeous colorful tulips. The most fitting photo for the theme 🙂🙂 Ragamuffin 1 (Italy). A really beautiful slice-of-life scene 🙂🙂 Atila 2 (Villandry) – hard to do better than a perfectly manicured garden.

Voilà !

Hello!

This month was really tough to choose! But since we have to pick 3...

🙂🙂🙂 Solène40’s photo1 (Pamplemousse) for its peaceful, slightly old-fashioned vibe 🙂🙂 Gaura’s photo 3 (Keukenhoff) 🙂 Unamilanese’s 1 (Greece) – probably because there’s a door too 😛... but there were quite a few other photos I could’ve picked instead

The theme and its photos weren’t exactly magical, my apologies.

Here are my picks for the artists:

Kate Photo 2: 3 points – Always the right perspective. That eye for detail. Ragamuffin Photo 3: 2 points – And a peacock on the shutter button. Solene Photo 3: 1 point – A warm shot.

3 points for Muriel18_2 (Chenonceau): a touch of England in a French-style garden. 2 points for Gaura_2 (Morocco): the feeling that all the world’s vegetable gardens are perfectly aligned (and I don’t like tulips ) 1 point for UnaMilanese_2 (Rome): when man blends into the background.

Okay... after much hesitation, I’m going with the flowers:

Muriel 2: 3 points, beautiful color harmony and a lovely light touch of chaos. Kate 1: 2 points, a stunning lotus bud in its leafy setting. The drab buildings in the background give the garden context and make it more than just a flower shot. Gaura 3: 1 point. A remarkably well-composed photo, but the red and yellow combo is a tad flashy.

I also really loved Ragamuffin’s Neapolitan shot, Solene’s Mauritian and Indian photos, Kate’s cactus pic, and X’s Brazilian one.

Hello

Phew, still in the pond 😉 (normal for a series on parks and gardens ¾) My vote, even though looking through yours, I get the feeling the trophy’s heading back to Haute-Savoie 😛

Gaura photo 2: Dadès Valley: 🙂🙂🙂 Great for the photo itself and what it brings to mind from my recent trip

Rouquine 38 photo 1: Central Park: 🙂🙂 A flawless shot in one of the world’s most famous parks. I’ll never get tired of it ¾

Solene40 photo 3: India: 🙂 Definitely that sense of ease in a country that’s anything but

Good evening everyone,

This month's contest was hands-down won by Noelle with her perfectly suited username. Not only did her photo of Keukenhof Park take the top spot with 15 points, but her Dades photo also secured 3rd place with 7 points. In between, Muriel's photo of Chenonceau claimed the silver medal (11 points).

Thanks to all of you for your participation and for generously sharing your photos on this theme—gardens aren’t the easiest to photograph, so it’s truly a photographer’s challenge.

Gaura, it’s your turn now. 🙂

Thanks to everyone for your entries and votes. Not all travel lovers are passionate about gardens, and apparently, gardens can be tricky to photograph. Leaves reflect the sunlight, experts recommend shooting on slightly overcast days, avoiding harsh midday contrasts, or using a polarizing filter... I think I’ve found a pretty general theme for December—I’ll look for some photos to illustrate it and post it tomorrow. Thanks again.
