Here’s my vote.

3 points: Ragamuffin photo 1. 2 points: Kate photo 3. 1 point: Tylassin photo 1.

Tylassin’s photo 1: It’s not a “pretty” photo. But you can see a fishing action with fishermen and fish… alive. Right on target for the theme.

3 pts for Ragamuffin_1: Incredible India, methodical and organized. Philippebrg, one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready: in the soft trade winds my heart sways. Let’s say two points for the second one. 1 pt: UnaMilanese_1 for that up-close-and-personal moment with a sperm whale (Greece)

@Kate

You’ve got a rogue eye! 😉

Not the photographer’s eye, maybe the attentive visitor’s eye at the exhibit, noticing that Rouquine trips over the nets when casting her vote.

3 points: Ragamuffin – Photo 1 – India 2 points: Kate – Photo 2 – India 1 point: Pagaljavab – Photo 1 – Senegal

My Photo 1 isn’t from Senegal—it’s the door of the restroom at the Fisheries Museum in Bergen, Norway. That’s the one you picked, right?

Oh! No, you’re right, it’s not that one. I’d actually chosen Photo 2. Sorry! 😅

Hey there,

Kate 3: Crab fishing while sitting where the waves end, under a yellow umbrella with a little red plastic bucket – 3 points.

Ragamuffin 1: 18 men carrying a boat on their shoulders. 2 points.

The vote for third place is intentionally left blank.

Hi everyone,

My votes for this month:

3 points for Attila’s photo #2—what an ocean, what skies, and that tiny fisherman really fits the theme!

2 points for UnaMilanese’s photo #1—a vibrant fishing scene in Greece.

1 point for Philippebrg’s photo #1, “One day I’ll become a fisherman” in that magical setting, somewhere in the Kingdom of Siam.

The vote for number 3 is intentionally blank.

So none of these mediocre photos deserves a single point?

Quick, quick, cast your vote before it closes!

Attila 2: Portugal: 3 points I almost didn’t spot the fisherman 😅

Kate 1: Essaouira: 2 points. I love the composition of the shot

Rouquine 1: Puffin: 1 point But that’s not fair 😂

Under the august supervision of Master Piktcheure, I’ve tallied up the votes.

First off, just so you know: 34 photos were posted by 12 participants 18 photos from 10 different participants were voted on, making this a nicely spread-out contest—no hard feelings! 😛

And the results.....

After a slow start, the Indian boat porters in Ragammuffin’s photo 1 picked up speed to finish first at the top of the beach with 18 votes. Meanwhile, after a strong start, the Welsh puffin in Rouquine 38’s photo 1 landed and took second place with 15 votes. And we round out the podium gently in the tranquility of Cherai with Kate 3’s photo, which finishes with 14 votes.

Ragamuffin is the winner of this 140th VF photo contest! 🙂 Congrats to you!

Thanks to everyone for participating in this forum and keeping the discussion thread lively! 😉

Raga, the floor is yours for the 141st contest! 😛

Hello,

The vote for #3 is intentionally blank.

So, none of these mediocre photos deserves a single point?

No, there were too many (Philippebrg’s, Kate’s first two, Muriel’s first one, Isabelle’s puffin), and I didn’t feel like playing eeny-meeny-miny-moe.

Congrats to the winners! 🙂

Hello everyone,

A big thank you for voting for my photo of fishermen in Puri (Odisha, India) pulling their boat onto the beach.

It’s been a while (thanks to the site’s closure) since I’ve seen my name at the top of the leaderboard.

It’s actually simple—just climb... the stairs 😉

So here’s the theme (not yet covered—unless I’m mistaken) for the next contest. I’ll open both threads (contest and discussion) in the next few hours. You already have the chance to start looking for photos related to "stairs."

example: the longest one with 6,600 steps 🏴‍☠️ at Mount Tai (Shandong, China)
