La fièvre jaune et la malaria sont deux maladies différantes, d'accord pourla fièvre jaune, c'est un vaccin valable de mémoire 10 ans mais pour la malaria, il n'y a pas de vaccin cela se prend avec des médicaments qui sont de plus en plus forts en fonction des zones impaludées, mais les deux maladies s'attrapent avec des moustiques, donc il est essentiel de se protéger à la tombée de la nuit des moustiques cela veut dire tee shirt à manches longues, pantalon long, crème anti moustiques et en mettre aussi sur les vêtements, quand aux médicaments à prendre et bien, il faut voir cela avec son médecin traitant, ces les conseils que je donne, je ne dirai jamais, il ne faut pas prendre de médicaments pour le Palu cela serait irresponsable de ma part, effectivement, il y a des périodes où les risques sont plus importants par exemple durant la saison des pluies mais il ne faut pas oublier que les moustiques n'ont pas de frontières c'est à dire de penser qu'il n'y en a qu'aux bords des marigaux ou des points d'eau et qu'en ville il n'y en a pas!!!!

mon avis: c'est la vérité qu'à dakar il y a peu de moustiques, meme pas du tout selon les quartiers (en banlieue il y'en a davantage) jusqu'en juin (dans mon quartier il n'y en a jamais meme l'été).
quand bien même t'en trouverais il existe différents de moyens de les éloigner.
Quant à mon expérience perso j'ai fait 1an 1/2 ici, j'ai voyagé un peu partout meme au sénégal ou au mali, quelle que soit la saison (pluie ou pas) je n'ai jamais pris de précaution particulière (je me suis fait parfois pas mal piquer) et jamais de palu alors je pense qu'on a le droit de dédramatiser un peu !

Je suis allée au sénégale en decembre 2007.
Je me suis fait vacciné contre la fièvre jaune et j'ai pris les comprimés contre le palu.
Il y a differents comprimés:
Les moins chères (je sais plus leur noms !) mais il y en a un qui est photosensibilisant donc pas d'exposition au soleil, et l'autre qui à des effets de "depression", pas top non plus.
Celui qui n'a aucun effets secondaires c'est la Malarone, mais c'est aussi le plus chère 43, 95 euros la boite. il en faut Une et demi pour un sejour d'une semaine car il faut continuer 7 sept au retour.
Le medecin que j'ai vu m'a dit de ne pas acheter dans une pharmacie qui le vendait plus que 44 euros.
Car ils font leur marge et ce n'est pas remboursé. J'ai trouvé sans problème.
J'ai une ami qui elle avait reussi a trouver des boites pour 15 euros sur paris, en pharmacie. (moi je suis de la bretagne).
Normalement le medecin specialiste devrais te dire si c'est conseiller de ne pas les prendre.
Il y a des endroits plus risqué que d'autre (casamance), mais nous on nous l'avait conseiller meme si on restait dans des endroits touristiques.
On c'est quand meme fait piqué. on nous a dit si en mars avril vous avez les symptomes d'une grippe penser a dire que vous etes aller au sénégal ca pourrais etre une poussée de palu. Mais pour le moment rien.

Je suis revenue du sénégal il y a 15 jours où j'ai passée un séjour super. Moi, mon médecin m'a conseillé de prendre le traitement anti paludéen même si ce n'est pas vraiment la saison des moustiques (quoique moi j'ai été bien piquée quand même). C'est MALARONE (43.95 euros) qui m'a été prescris, par contre si vous voulez il me reste un boîte complète que la pharmacie n'a pas voulue me racheter car c'est interdit par la loi. Je veux bien vous la revendre 35 euros.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.

It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
