je viens de rentrer de maurice ou j'ai séjourné une semaine, et je ne me suis jamais protégé et je n'ai eu aucune piqure, et n'ai d'ailleurs vu aucun moustique ! alor c'est probablement pq c'est l'hiver en ce moment, mais moi je te conseille d'y aller les yeux fermés, c'est vraiment un endroit merveilleux !!!

Nous y sommes restes 15 jours, nous avions emporté 4 bombes anti moustiques, pensant que l'on allait en avoir besoin. Car moi aussi avant le départ, c'était un peu du genre, on y va mais dès la sortie de la chambre prévision dese "pommader" à l'anti moustique.
Et dans la pratique, nous avons utilisé l'équivalent d'un demi flacon(pour 2 adultes). Tu verras quelques moustiques lors de tes escapades dans la nature ou dans les parcs, là si tu y penses, il faut mieux se protéger. Quand tu seras à l'hotel tu oublieras complètement le chik

J'etais à maurice la semaine derniere pendant 2 semaines avec 2 enfants, avant de partir j'avais la même inquiétude que toi, rassure toi pas de problème.
Anti moustique pour te rassurer, mais pas indispensable, c'est la mauvaise saison pour les moustiques et puis apres renseignement sur place, aupres des locaux, il y a eu que tres peu de cas, (de decembre à fevrier).
Les hotels font tout le nécéssaire 2 fois par semaine pour exterminer les derniers pestiférés (je parle des moustiques).
Bon voyage et profite bien de ce séjour.

Nous revenons de Flic en Flac ou on a passé 14 jours formidables jusqu'au 28/7 (6 adultes et 3 enfants); dire qu'il n'y a pas de risque de chick relève des professionnels de la santé je pense, mais c'est sur qu'il y a quelques moustiques qui je l'espère pour nous, ne sont pas tous porteurs du virus.
On peut estimer à une quinzaine le nombre de piqures qu'on a eues au total et il est vrai qu'on a vite abandonné, au bout de quelques jours tout l'arsenal qu'on avait emporté (spray 5/5, etc.) sauf les diffuseurs électriques dans les chambres et les serpentins en terrasse pour les soirées.
Si vous restez calfeutré dans votre hôtel, il est possible que tout soit clean mais si vous allez en campement ou si vous faites du tourisme, avec la nature environnante, je doute fort que les moustiques en aient été réduits à subir le sort du dodo ! surtout aux terres de couleurs à Chamarel prenez des précautions, 3 piqures en quelques minutes sur une personne de ma famille.
Mais ne vous affolez pas, Maurice est super et vous passerez de bonnes vacances, la plus dangereuse maladie à Maurice, c'est la retournite!! ( l'envie d'y retourner).
Il faisait 23 à 27 ° à l'ombre (c'est mieux que la canicule!!), mes enfants et petits enfants se sont baignés très souvent et si j'ai mis une veste un jour c'était parce que j'avais la flemme de la tenir au bras !! idem en août 2002, j'ai passé 3 semaines sans mettre ni pull ni veste; prévoyez tout de même si vous sortez, pour une pluie occasionnelle de quelques minutes parfois, surtout hors des côtes.

Il n'y a vraiment pas de quoi avoir peur, il y a très peu de risque de Chik en ce moment, tu peux lire les autres commentaires.
Surtout qu'en hiver vu qu'il fait pas très chaud, il y a très peu de moustique. Pour vous rassurer mettez un peu de pommade anti-moutik
et éviter les endroits boisés. Pour Chamarel mettez bien de la pommade anti-moustik, demandez à l'hotel un diffuseur électrique dans votre chambre.
Mais il y a très peu de risque. Nous avons de la famille à Rivière-Noire, dans le sud-ouest, et ils ne se protègent plus depuis longtemps, pas
de piqures, pas de moustiques. De plus le Chik est dangereux sutout pour les bébés et personnes agés. Si vous en avez protéger les bien quand même au cas où..
Si vous êtes sur une côte au bord de mer et au mois d'octobre je peux vous assurer que vous n'aurez pas froid. En ce moment il fait froid car c'est le plein hiver. (enfin c'est les mauriciens qui ont froid, pas les européens!!). Non en octobre ce ne sera pas les fortes chaleurs, c'est vers la mi-novembre que ça commence à faire très chaud. Mais il fait beau en octobre.

oui effectivement nous avons choisi deux hotels sur la côte ouest, un au nord le trou aux biches, et l'autre au sud le paradis, la cote est étant plus vantée.
tant mieux s'il fait chaud, l'essentiel étant d'avoir plus que 26 degrès et pas de pluie!
non nous n'avons pas d'enfants mais c'est surtout pour moi que je crains!
A Maurice, le chikungunya, c'est du passe:on n'en parle plus!
On voit chaque jour des camions qui nettoient, et les endroits desinfectes....

Ces bestioles sont corriaces!Elles luttent pour survivre....mais il faut se montrer plus malins qu'elles..et ne pas vivre dans la peur:d'ailleurs, les hotels sont remplis!Il pleut de temps en temps, mais du soleil, il y en a toujours...

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
