Franco-Togolese marriage

Hi Paag. I just got back from Lomé with all the marriage paperwork. I’ve got everything ready to send for the marriage transcription. I sent it off two weeks ago. I’m waiting for the acknowledgment of receipt to make sure they’ve received my file.
PA Paag ·
Good evening. Are you married? Congratulations! Sometimes the acknowledgment of receipt can take a very long time. Did you get married through the CCM? In a few months, you’ll receive your family record book. Then the visa, and you’ll be together. Good luck!
BA Bashomar ·
Good evening! Yeah, it's been 20 days since I've been waiting for an acknowledgment of receipt. But this afternoon, I went back to the post office to ask for information and file a complaint. They confirmed that the mail did arrive at its destination and that they'll send me a duplicate. I went through this marriage without a CCM. But it cost me a lot because of all this. Now I'm waiting, but I don't know how long. Should I call them or not?
PA Paag ·
Hi there. We got married in June without CCM and received the family record book in January. Don’t wait too long for the acknowledgment of receipt. With a bit of luck, it’ll take about 3 months. But the consulate definitely received your file. You can’t reach them by phone or email. You just gotta be patient—around 7 months. Hang in there!
BA Bashomar ·
Hi; will they send you something to prove that your application is being processed or not? Thanks again.
PA Paag ·
No paperwork at all. They’ll just email you if any documents are missing.
BA Bashomar ·
AND HOW WILL YOU KNOW if it’s good? You’ve got your booklet, right?
PA Paag ·
7 months later they sent me an email saying my family record book was being prepared, and that I could pick it up at the town hall 10 days later. Nantes handles this. Did you get married in Lomé or somewhere else?
BA Bashomar ·
No, in Lomé it was too tight; I went to Tsevie to get married. There were a lot of people, and we had to negotiate. It was really tough, but it's done.
PA Paag ·
Hello. Keep me posted on when the family record book arrives. Where in France do you live?
BA Bashomar ·
GOOD EVENING, no worries; I live near Toulouse

Hi everyone. We got married in August in Tsevié with CCAM. We’ve submitted the paperwork for the transcription, sent it a week ago. I have a question about my spouse’s visa application—they’re asking for proof of the French spouse’s French nationality. What do you think this means? Is a valid passport or ID card enough, or do we absolutely need a French Nationality Certificate?

Best regards
NO Nounou81 ·
Hello,

You’ll need the national ID card plus the certificate of nationality (mandatory).

Hello,

My husband and I have just gone through the Franco-Togolese wedding process. He’s Togolese, and I’m French. Given how complicated things can get with the administration, I thought I’d leave this post here. If you’d like advice or want to benefit from our experience, don’t hesitate...

Good luck to everyone in the same situation!!

Hi, I’m planning to marry a Togolese man, and with all the administrative paperwork, I’m completely lost. After seeing your post, I was wondering if you could still offer some help understanding this administrative process, specifically how to put together the CCAM file. Looking forward to your response. Thanks in advance

Good evening everyone, just wanted to let you know that I received our family record book with the birth certificate transcription for my son. So happy! I’ll start preparing the visa for my wife and my son’s passport. Thanks for all your advice.

Hi, I'm French and want to marry my Togolese girlfriend in the CCAM. They're asking for a CNF (French nationality certificate), but after looking into it, I realized the processing times are really long. Is this really required? Thanks for your replies! Jpierre
PA Paag ·
Hello, yes, you need a certificate of nationality, which you get from the courthouse. They ask for the birth certificates of your parents and their marriage certificate. I waited a month and a half. Good luck! Best regards, Françoise.
CA Carrell ·
Hi and thanks for your reply! I got a call from the court—they told me what to do next, but I have to wait until September if everything goes well. If we can stay in touch, that’d make me happy. Have a great day! JPierre

Hi I sent my file in mid-June and it arrived in Lomé in mid-July. I didn’t include this certificate because, as far as I’m concerned, both my parents are French and were born on French territory, so I didn’t think I needed to provide one. They told me they’d received the file, and I’ll see if they ask for it. I got an email saying it’s being processed. I’m from the French West Indies and I’m waiting for my CCAM so I can marry a Togolese man
CA Carrell ·
Hey hey hello, it's funny—I lived in Martinique in Schoelcher for 20 years before heading to French Guiana. But tell me, has your fiancé ever come to Martinique at least once to meet you? And I suppose you’ve been to Togo yourself... As for the CNF, it’s listed, but I only spotted it between the lines in three words and didn’t see it before, which is why I asked about it on this forum. Be careful—because of that, they could send your file back. They know exactly what they’re doing at the consulate, I know it all too well, and they’ve never even seen me to give advice. Believe me, they’re completely absent except for the Togolese security guards at the entrance—you don’t see the French staff at all??? If we can exchange emails, let me know, and I’ll explain the steps I’ve already taken. That’d be great if we could help each other out because apparently, their paperwork is really complicated to put together. Best regards, JPierre
