This new system was put in place to prevent fraud that was hurting individuals. In fact, there were travel agencies with specialized "bot-like" software that would automatically buy up all the Tatkal tickets as soon as sales opened...
You’re a bit naive😉 What you’re saying might be the official version you’ve been told. The reality is that India is sinking deeper and deeper into hardline nationalism with ALL that entails: "India for Indians," and if they could amend the Constitution, it would become "India for Hindus."

Here’s an explanation that seems more in line with Modi’s political agenda in reality.

And yet I got a Private Message lecturing me about my knowledge of India, with the general vibe of "tweet-tweet, little birds, everyone’s happy and kind in India!" Dying of laughter! 🤣 🤣 🤣

You should always be wary of those profiles with 3 messages that create an account just to join a single discussion.
This one looks like ChatGPT responses or an account made to share official information.

. I remain at your disposal
I have two questions:
- What are you available to help us with?
- Why are you available to help us?

And you haven’t even read the private message where they lecture me (about elections, among other things) on India and on how kind and reliable Indians are... as if I were a first-time tourist... When it seems they only know about India from... Varkala... and its shady reputation...

I also asked 4 questions, but "to avoid playing ping-pong," my contact didn’t answer them...

Following the model of Putin's "Russian trolls" spreading propaganda online, will we now see Modi's "Indian trolls"?

Hi Charlie,
Did you manage to sort out the ticket issue?
I arrived yesterday, and sure enough, there's no point in having the app... for the reasons mentioned.
We’ll still have the tourist reservation service.
And it’s a clearly defined time slot.
I’ll be there tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM to get in the queue.
It’s been completely turned upside down since online bookings.
I think you need to be Indian and probably have an Indian bank account.
Now, how do you leave New Delhi by train when you have to book one or two days before departure?!
Are you still in Delhi?
Hi Karim!
My wife and I want to book several train trips in India since we’re planning to go in October, but we do need an OTP first.
How can we get one, considering we don’t have an Indian phone network since we’re in France?
Is it already a lost cause to book online?
Thanks for your answers!

Hi,
Is it maybe simpler to take a domestic flight instead?
Thanks for the replies.
Best regards

You can easily buy tickets online under the general or tourist quota. First, you need to create a profile, and it works with a foreign number. For payment, there are so many options... it's confusing, and it often fails. I go with multiple payment services, then international cards (powered by PayU).
Hope this helps!
