Question about the Bangkok-Vientiane train (page 2 of 2)

Yeah, you're right—we actually arrive at Khamsavath railway station, and the train to Luang Prabang leaves from Vientiane Railway Station. Okay, that’ll mean one extra little transfer 😉

Did you allow plenty of time between the two trains?

I’ve read a few reports where people mentioned two or three hours of delay on the first one 😵

Kate and her friends are really brave to do it the slow way, but I bet it’ll let her bring back even more photos.

Wow, I’m surprised! 😮 Usually, VF travelers tell you your itinerary’s too rushed, that you need to take your time, that trains and local transport are better than flying... So basically, I’m wasting time and energy by choosing the slowest option, and all that...? This long journey (Bangkok / Luang Prabang) is part of the trip with its complications and slowness, but I think it’ll bring us other kinds of joy. It’s a choice we might regret, but I’ll let you know honestly in my future travel journal 😉

Let’s say you’re crossing in one night and one day what took me several days at the start of the century.

Anyway, it’s both slow (almost 24 hours, after all) and fast. 😉
