Somewhere on the Australian coast, a summer evening (yesterday)

The spectacular Fingal’s Cave in Scotland, carved into the basalt columns of the cliffs on the Isle of Staffa, off the coast of the Isle of Mull. The sea, as it enters the cave, creates a resonant music that inspired Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony and the overture to his symphonic poem The Hebrides.

“You reached Fingal’s Cave via a lava sidewalk. A tunnel bored into the basalt, stretching a hundred meters from the entrance before hitting the back wall. A quick clarification about Milford Sound in New Zealand:

It’s a fjord, meaning an ancient glacial valley flooded by the sea. It doesn’t fit the definition of a cliff at all.

I’d said “qqqqqqqqqWhatever” 🤪 This Instagrammed shot—at least 18 million times—is called “the eye of the needle.” And I got my feet wet to get this one 😉

Hold on, I was also tempted by the Algarve cliffs, which I find gorgeous, but Rouquine’s photo put me off... She’s so annoying! !!!!!! 😄

And one last one for the road, now that I’ve found my hard drive—taken off the coast of Vieste, in Gargano National Park, at the start of Puglia, southern Italy.

Well, I’m not one of the 18 million 😅 but that’s a really beautiful photo 😊

For a moment, I was also tempted by the cliffs of the Algarve, which I find stunning, but Rouquine’s photo put me off... She annoys me so much! !!!!!

This reminds me I haven’t posted my 3rd photo yet... what would you like to see? Maybe I’ve got something up my sleeve 😏😏😏

Okay, a quick question to my friend Google debunks the info—Étretat isn’t in the top 10. But there’s no cliff on the Eiffel Tower (No. 1) 😅

In Tenerife, beautiful cliffs plunge into the water, and there aren’t any gaps ;)
