View of Everest and the Khumbu Glacier from Kala Patthar, a "hill" of just 5,643 m in altitude.

How high up is this glacier? (No issues with altitude sickness?)

Everest Base Camp is located at the foot of this glacier, 300 meters lower.

No problem with AMS if you acclimatize properly, which is possible since you have to ascend gradually over several days from Lukla. Crossing passes helps with acclimatization.

I looked at my photos of Icelandic icebergs. So blue... Glaciers are often gray.

Hello Attila, It’s true that in our photos, Icelandic icebergs also tend to look more blue. 😮

In the Hautes-Alpes, I spotted some chamois, though. 😉 But not in the snow!

Icebergs are really blue, glaciers are often completely gray. Unless they're covered in fresh snow...
