I don’t mind if you post a photo of Chenonceau ๐Ÿ˜‰, especially since the site is so big—there’s little chance it’ll be the same view (though ๐Ÿคช... like Kate’s photo and mine of the cactus garden in Lanzarote ๐Ÿ˜). I’d better hurry and post my latest photo 🤣

Good evening Isabelle, and everyone else

Ah! But the person organizing should be able to set their own rules. Not allowing two photos of the same place ensures nice diversity, but on the other hand, if we want more participants, it’s better to be more open 😅

The rule this month is that there’s no rule about the number of photos allowed for the same place. I do think it’s more interesting to show the diversity of gardens, but if several people want to post photos taken in the same garden, that’s no problem. Your photo of the gardens of Chenonceaux is really quite different from Muriel’s taken in the same spot. It’s pretty amusing this month that it’s a relatively small number of gardens around the world that’s catching the attention of participating photographers. (missing the emoji that’s scratching its chin)

Parco Nord this morning. One of the green lungs of one of Europe’s most polluted cities. (Sorry for the quality—my smartphone isn’t the best)

It’s kind of funny this month that it’s a relatively small number of gardens around the world that’s catching the attention of participating photographers

For the sake of diversity, then ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bruno’s recent travel journal inspired me to revisit my photos from Cape Verde... water management for crops on Santo Antรฃo:

Another kind of garden: airport gardens, which offer a welcome break during long layovers. Doha

And especially Singapore with its indoor gardens:

Butterfly greenhouse

And outdoor ones:

Hi Muriel,

So glad you're here to keep this thread alive—it’s clearly not the most inspiring one! ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe modern folks just aren’t into gardens anymore...

I really like the photos of Singapore’s airport.

A garden I’ve been dreaming about for ages, and I *might* finally wander through it this winter—at last!!!

this topic clearly not very inspiring.

I’m really surprised by how few photos have been posted—I actually found the theme really broad... and inspiring (though I have to admit, after going through the garden photos I’d taken here and there, they’re not always as good as I remembered! ๐Ÿ˜•)

I can’t tell which garden you’re dreaming about because when I click on the supposed link, nothing happens .

Maybe gardens are places that are tricky to photograph... Or maybe travelers just don’t think to take photos, happy to wander through them or relax after sightseeing...

If I hadn’t lost my hard drive, I’d have shared a collection of Italian gardens here (Boboli, Tivoli, Caserta, etc.), with their neatly trimmed boxwood hedges, the tall cypress trees, fountains, and pools.

The link was supposed to take you to a photo of Shazdeh Garden in Kerman Province. For those interested in Persian gardens, check here.

Good evening,

There’s really no reason to "feel responsible" for the low participation (so far). The topic is great. It seems people just don’t have photos on this subject yet...

It turns out I love traveling, photography, and gardens... but they’re tricky to photograph. Shall we start with a little tour at the entrance of my garden?

In spring:

In summer:

A few shots from the Chaumont-sur-Loire Garden Festival:

And a touch of Morocco with the Majorelle Gardens and vegetable gardens in the Dadรจs Valley:

Here in central Palermo. It’s not a park, I guess, since the ground’s concrete, but it’s still a green space all the same.

There are also fruit gardens. In Montenegro, apples and pomegranates.
