Ouch! Bad luck! One of the perks of digital—well, when you don’t forget to back up your files!

Ouch! Bad luck! One of the advantages of digital, though—when you don’t forget to back up your files!

Another perk is that we don’t have to stick our paper photos onto our PC or smartphone, which would quickly ruin our contests

Alright, while we’re traveling in the area, here’s one last lake—this one’s a bit salty. I’ll let you guess where we are...

Hello (rainy day),

Here at home:

- By the Lac du Salagou, which I love:

- In the Vercors, near Corrençon-en-V., the Lac de la Grande Moucherolle.

A film photo of Lake Petén Itzá.

For those who love animals, around this lake in Guatemala there are tons of howler monkeys that are really active at night!

I love the film photos of Lake Titicaca, especially the first three—they’ve got such a "vintage" vibe that’s super trendy right now.

they have a "vintage" vibe

Natural wear from time + film photography.

The photos are about 25 years old.

Back when we took the time to think, frame, and compose before clicking! I can only imagine how much developing my two full memory cards from my last trip would’ve cost me 😵

Definitely, given the cost, we weren’t just snapping away like crazy 😄 (I’ve also had times when nothing came out at all because the film didn’t load properly 🤪). But I like to think I took care with the framing... 😎.

And back when you never knew if the photo would turn out great or completely ruined—it was always a surprise!

I have some totally blurry film photos. Nowadays, it’s impossible to take completely blurry photos unless you do it on purpose.

If we went with slides, it only cost pretty much the price of the film! 😉 I still have a few cabinets full... 🤪

The advantage of digital is mainly that it's easier to store, organize, and therefore to look at.

And back when you never knew if the photo would turn out great or a total fail—it was always a surprise!

A surprise that could be awkward when your friends swiped your camera and snapped something politically incorrect without you knowing, only for you and the lab tech to discover it at the same time (been there, done that )

A sometimes awkward surprise when friends would swipe your camera and take a politically incorrect photo without you knowing, which you’d only discover at the same time as the lab technician (based on a true story )

Yeah, those rugby players knocking back Pastis don’t always do subtle

Yeah, those rugby players knocking back pastis—subtlety isn’t always their strong suit

I’m no rugby player and I can’t stand pastis, but I did the same thing not that long ago—I love the vibe! Okay, it was on a point-and-shoot, so not as funny…

Hi there,

- In 2019, near Ajaccio Airport, a temporary pond—following floods—served as a stopover for 2 flamingos.

- In the Jura (I can’t remember exactly where...) in 2019:

Have a great week, everyone! Puma2A
