So glad you liked L’Arganier! The chicken is chicken with amlou—a mix of honey, argan oil, and almonds. These days, it’s often made with olive oil, peanut oil, and honey instead. I’ve had both versions, and I really love this dish with couscous.
Tafraoute is such a lovely town to wander around in.
Thanks for this really enjoyable read!

Thanks for the correction. Anyway, it was really good. Worth trying if you're passing through!

Did you try sfenjs, those doughnut-shaped bracelet pastries sold in Tafraoute, across from the Tanger, on the other side of the street? They’re available every day starting around 5 PM. They’re great for a snack with a small glass of tea. Actually, "sfenj" means "zero" in Arabic, I think.

It's so good... So oily, so sweet... Like a taste of childhood.
When I see a vendor selling these doughnuts, I buy some even when I'm not hungry ๐
I didn’t know the name.
I ate some in Agadir, but are they really the same?

In Agadir, I don't know... but in Sidi Ifni, you can find them every evening in the upper part of the town, near the bakeries. Really good too.

Let's not exaggerate ๐
Buttercream does have its merits.

Less exotic and heavier, in my region it's hard to find a butter Yule log—pastry chefs say it's too heavy ๐ but it's the only one I like.
For me, the Christmas Yule log *has* to be the butter one, no matter what fans of all the fancy decorations say.

It’s not that hard to do, plus it’s fun.
Bold flavors carry the taste. It’s a celebration. Let’s not hold back.
Enjoy

good evening, there are some in SAFI too, we saw them earlier, they smell great and help mask the city odors a bit. Watch your diet though.

They say that... but sugar calls for more sugar... so be careful.
Or else, we start a diet in early January... No king cake.

Come on, Daniel, are you out of your mind?
You're jumping on this trend that makes us analyze every single calorie at Christmas, guilt-trips us over the tiniest bit of fat or sugar, and takes the pleasure out of eating ๐๐๐
I strongly oppose this dietetic dictatorship.๐๐๐
I'll eat the Yule log and the galette—both—and since I'll be in Spain, there’ll be some serious heavy-duty stuff: rich and sweet turrรณn... Na na na!!!!!๐
