You're welcome! I’ll admit I was really looking forward to the new travel journal It helps me pass the time until I leave in October myself... And it’s actually making me want to write my own journal when I get back πŸ˜‰

Hey Who told you that Isan was meant to stay isolated forever? Cities are growing just like everywhere else in the world. Does the word "demographics" ring a bell? As everywhere, the pull of big cities draws younger generations who easily leave their villages hoping for a better standard of living than their parents. Once again, you’re writing without knowing—Isan *is* rural and it’s the poorest region in Thailand. The military junta is investing in road infrastructure so it can develop!! And to answer your question: everyone who knows this region, except some pseudo-guide who deleted their fake job after showing how little they knew about it.

Your ability to place the Mekong between Thailand and Cambodia makes you one of the greatest experts on this province—top of the top, for sure.

We’d all believe you if you told us you walked across it on water at that spot.

Legendary Laurent, you’re gonna end up worshipping Buddha yourself.

Hello friends! This waterfall is catching my eye too... but for us, it’ll probably have to wait until 2021. We’re only spending 4 nights in Chiang Mai next March, and it’s a bit too far by scooter. We’ll explore the waterfalls (on this Doi) the following year, doing more of a loop—like I assume you did, but by car with a driver?

I’ll take this chance to tell you we really enjoyed our 3 nights in Nan last February. It’s a gorgeous part of Thailand, and I think we’ll spend more time there next visit. The market near Wat Phumin was lively, and the temples lit up at night are absolutely stunning (you’d made me curious ).

I’m waiting for JoΓ«l’s prose and your photos, FranΓ§oise, from the rest of your trip. I miss Thailand, and we’re leaving late in 2020 (not until March 10th)—it’s gonna be tough! So please, keep this new travel journal going for a while longer!

Have a lovely evening! And thanks for enchanting me every day... πŸ˜‰

Ahhh, here are the photos of your little dishes πŸ˜‰

This waterfall is (and especially the photos!) absolutely breathtaking. I hope I get the chance to see it one day.

Can't wait for our arrival in Chiang Mai!

Here we go for another getaway in the Chiang Mai region, which is a dream for tourism since this is our third visit and we’ll still only see new things.

We have to admit that sometimes, barely on our way, tempted by the smell of barbecue, we give in early to a little chicken skewer.

Off to the hills, but not the same ones as yesterday. We’re visiting a village spread out over three very large sections.

As soon as possible, we stop at a cafΓ© backed by a royal coffee-growing project. Coffee plants are even planted all around.

For a terrace, you could do worse for a setting to enjoy your coffee.

A little further on, an elderly man insists on showing us his old house. Once upstairs, we wonder if the floor will hold and if we’re all about to end up in the river. But let’s not forget we’ve been blessed, and nothing can happen to us.

The very flowery village is crossed by a stream, giving it undeniable charm.

The old temple was built at the foot of a larger section of the stream. When the rains are heavier, it sometimes gets surrounded by water. Charming.

Well, we were a bit down that miss Daisyone didn’t show up to tell us in person! Now, we’re feeling better πŸ™‚

Hope our photos bring joy to those who already love this country.

This place is so awesome!

Would you mind sharing where it is and how you got there? (Though I’m guessing it was with a private driver.)

The vegetation in this country never stops amazing me... I don’t drink coffee, but in this setting, I’d definitely reconsider! :)

A little message of encouragement and deep respect to Mr. Jojoone the First and his "better half". πŸ™‚

I still rarely leave my "cave", but I never miss following your travels in the Kingdom... and especially your travel journals, always enhanced with beautiful photos and lovely texts πŸ˜‰

I’m far from your "dedication" and "commitment" to sharing all this with the forum members, but I still appreciate your "courage", which I commend you for through this humble note.

I’ll be heading there soon to take your place, just to check if you’ve left the place in the same condition you found it... 😎 😎 😎

Leaving soon,

P.S. A little photo of a "waterfall" right at the tourist factory door, yet almost unknown, even to Thais...

I’d love the name of that village too so I can add it to my "to-do" list under the "Thailand" section! Gorgeous photos as always...

We stopped by the Saturday Night Market early in the evening, but we won’t be repeating that kind of experience—shuffling along in tight crowds when it feels like the whole planet has shown up in the same place.

These photos are really beautiful, and I'm reading the posts like a serial, just as eager to find out what happens next. Now, all I want is to see those waterfalls. Great job, JoΓ«l !

We’ve managed to find another exceptional temple yet again. This one was founded in 1938, and it’s not uncommon for the royal family to visit, which explains its magnificence. Countless statues were crafted using the finest materials. The least we can say is that the spectacular temples built in recent years—and even those still under construction—will never have the same radiance or such great historical and aesthetic value.

Not exactly a gift for photography: too dark in some spots and too bright in others. Oh well, we make do.

Come on over, I’m waiting for you!

This time, the Buddha and his naga are especially protective.

The inner sanctum is earned: you still have to climb some steps to reach the upper level. And once there, it’s truly awe-inspiring.

Thanks for the little visit—it’s always nice! It’s not just dedication; you get to relive the vacation all over again while prepping, posting, and following your travel journal.

We left the place a bit dry, so you might find it wet if you go soon...πŸ™‚

Don’t hesitate to stop by and tease us when you’re there—it’s everyone’s turn for now!
