White as snow, let's chat here! (page 5 of 13)

(Heading to Mercantour?)

Champsaur.

A classic: the Salar de Uyuni!

Saint Urcize ski resort

Winter photo... it's the season 🙂

PS: it's not in black and white 😛

Good evening,

I guess this image went through some serious post-processing !

But isn’t it blue as blue can be?

White sand dunes formed from the disintegration of pumice stone in the Puna de Atacama in Argentina (though the sky is way too blue! 🤪)

Evening,

No, I just boosted the blacks, here's the original photo:

I was in the middle of answering your question—you deleted it!!!

So it really is post-processing, which in my opinion is legitimate.

Yeah, but not "serious post-processing." I shoot in RAW, so I *have* to use editing software to develop and process my photos—otherwise, it’s like posting a negative 😉.

Was it foggy out?

It was snowing, and I took the shot with a 200mm lens from far away, which creates that effect.

Come on, a little warmth with the white walls of Essaouira 😛

To escape the winter chill and snow, let's head to Ethiopia.

The liturgical garments of the clergy and pilgrims are white. Here, a datbara in front of the rock-hewn monastery of Yemrehanna Krestos near Lalibela.

The dabtara belong to a caste within the Ethiopian church, acting as intermediaries between the clergy and the faithful. Keepers of liturgical tradition, they participate in chants and the reading of biblical texts. They’re also known for their reputations as soothsayers and healers.

He really doesn’t look warm at all ;)

Yeah, a bit of warmth here with the white walls of Sicily.

I’ve never really understood RAW. The few photos I’ve taken in that format didn’t seem to need any processing and didn’t look like a negative. Either way, I avoid it because the files are too large.

It really doesn’t look like he’s warm at all

True, it’s chilly in this very dark monastery, but the guy’s barefoot all the same.

White walls in Tryavna, Bulgaria too.

Actually, white is everywhere. Tree treated with arboricultural white in Rhodes.

But isn't it blue, like, really blue?

It's not exactly bright.

Snow is everywhere, actually.

Yes!😉

The problem is it doesn't stay that way for long...🤪

Because this contest is missing some humans, I think 😄

A bit yellow, the beard...

Ugh, never happy Agnès 😂
