Bugs on VoyageForum (page 7 of 7)

For me, the problem isn't resolved. When I click on "latest messages," I don't see the latest messages—especially new unanswered questions, the photo contest, etc.

And worse, this morning I spent a long time replying to someone who asked me a question, and at the end, when I went to add a link, the whole message disappeared! I only rewrote it because I know the person I was replying to isn’t the type to leave a response without saying thanks. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have rewritten my whole message.

Given all these issues, I think from now on I’ll refrain from participating in the forum. It’s too much time wasted for not much in return, since my messages don’t seem to generate much interest. I think I’ll stick to reading mode, like most people who come to the forum. At least I’ll waste less time that way.

You’ve got to be *really* motivated to participate in this forum!

Do you realize how many millions of messages are posted on this forum? Do you have any idea of all the functions needed to keep a site like this running? A free site, no less. Based on your previous message, the answer is no—you have no clue. You also have no idea how much of a headache this site’s code is, or how complicated it is to update it to match current standards. Right now, there’s one person working to fix technical bugs every day. Yes, EVERY DAY—weekends included. While also trying to develop a more stable new version.

So yes, there are bugs, and we’ve always responded to try to fix them as quickly as possible. Sometimes, unfortunately, it takes a little longer than we’d like. A little kindness would be nice too.

Yep, it's not just about user discomfort—there are also the issues organizers run into. Sometimes it’s necessary to clarify these points.

Thanks so much. Of course, we’re always listening for bugs and will do our best to fix them. But threats to leave the forum? The code doesn’t care. We do, though, because we firmly believe in this forum and that it can still provide quality information—even in the face of growing AI influence.

- This morning, the “Latest Discussions” section was still displaying its list out of order. - The name of the person who’s supposed to have written the last message is often wrong. - When I open a “followed discussion,” I don’t always land on the last posted message.

Personally, these "bugs" have never caused me any problems. I've always been able to reply to messages and post my own without any issues. I'm more bothered by my slow internet connection in my mountain village! True, the "last message" function on the forum doesn't always work, but it doesn't really bother me.

Three out of the four issues reported on 2/28 are fixed. The only one left is the "latest discussions" button, which still gives a weird response. Thanks, and good luck to the whole team! !

When you click on the title of a followed discussion, this time it’s the last posted message that appears, with no other option available. To get back to the start of the discussion, you first have to go through that last message.

I can't navigate the forum anymore. This message keeps popping up on my PC, but not on my iPad or phone. I'm not using a VPN.

We’ll see, but it’s likely that iCloud’s Private Relay is blocking it. It’s often automatically enabled on Macs. We’re looking into lifting the block. Thanks.

Hey Kate, still check if your antivirus has a VPN option enabled. Especially with Avast. Otherwise, check the address bar for "http" at the beginning on the left. With Firefox, there’s an icon to block trackers.

Because we should also mention when things are working well...

Since this morning, clicking on a discussion takes you directly to the new message(s), which hasn’t been the case for a long time. (Of course, this preference needs to be checked in "My Options")

Personally, I'm having issues again when I try to switch discussions. I posted a message in a travel journal, wanted to read another thread, and it kept taking me back to the previous journal every time. So I can't read the messages in "My Followed Discussions."

Right now, it's impossible to attach a photo to a post and therefore include it in the body of the message. The small frame that should contain it stays empty after uploading. I've tried several times on my PC and my iPad. The issue is with the site. Thanks!
