January 2018 Photo Contest: "Laundry Day" (page 9 of 10)

Before the voting closes, here’s my pick from all these photos that really fit the theme.

1 Carassou ph 1 : 3 pts. Original, colorful with a pleasant landscape and an interesting depth-of-field effect.

2 Pierre ph 2 : 2 pts. Great framing with this color palette.

3 Marifb ph 3 : 1 pt. Lovely brightness and reflections for this view of a laundry day.

Okay, let's see... how to announce this? Cheers to the winner? Hmm... 🙁 Bravo to the victor? Ugh... 😠 Hooray for the champ? Grrr... 🏴‍☠️ Applause for the winner? Yikes... 😕

Oh, I know: ♪ ☼ Congratulations ♫ to the victorious ☼ Ming2! ♪ ♫ 🙂 who racks up 46 points for her photo 1... with what seems like as many votes as clothes pegs!

A brilliant representative who wins by a whisker and hands down (care to do a theme on mending?) those who teamed up to make the other half 🤪

Pierre-1 lines up 18 points

Ragamuffin-1 sparkles with happiness at 17 points

Thanks to everyone for making this January so magical... 😊

The detailed ranking...

Dear Ming2, I’m leaving the place spotless for you and hope you have just as much fun and kindness here! 🙂

Congratulations Ming! That was my favorite—it immediately caught my eye. Second place was one I hesitated a long time to put on the podium, so well done to everyone. Thanks, Kola, I really loved this theme and the photos presented. Like everyone else, I’m waiting for the next theme. Thanks to those who liked my photos. And I want to apologize to everyone for my spelling and typing mistakes—it’s incurable for me, and it’s not for lack of trying. In the moment, I don’t realize it; everything seems okay, and it’s only afterward that I notice. So thanks for your patience with this big flaw.

Congrats to the winners, and a huge thanks to Kola for running this contest so well. The vibe was really friendly—I finally found that relaxed spirit of the contest again. Hope it stays like this! Thanks, thanks, thanks :)

Hello,

Congrats on this contest—great theme choice and such a friendly vibe! I always follow the results, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen so many photos mentioned and so many voters. This open, colorful, and universal topic must have something to do with it. And two of the photos I picked made it to the podium—what more could I ask for?

Big congrats to Ming2 (my absolute favorite!) and thanks to Masterpo for all the behind-the-scenes work.

I can’t wait to see February’s theme...

Hello everyone, and Congrats MING!! What a visual treat this contest was! Gorgeous photos, zero drama—just perfect! Thanks Kola, and long live the next theme!

It's great to start the day with applause and end the month with these little sunny notes! 🙂

Thanks for voting for this photo so enthusiastically, with such kind and often enthusiastic words... If I kicked off the contest with these towels or dishcloths without hesitation, I never imagined I'd win... The lighting was tricky (the photo isn’t perfect), but that gorgeous, rundown Cuban building really made an impression!

Thanks to everyone who also liked my second photo, the picturesque Varanasi where scenes of washermen and laundry hanging out to dry are everywhere!

It was a fantastic theme idea, and it’s nice to see that the enthusiasm was shared. Congratulations to all!

So, I’m happy to take over (proves that a little break is often a good thing). I’ll post the new theme tomorrow, hoping you’ll like it... The stage is set... but the challenge is tough! 😉

So, let’s see... how should I announce this?

Uh... drumroll, please? 🥁

A big congratulations to Ming for his amazing photo! Well done to the two runners-up, and thanks to those who liked one or another of my photos that I posted just to join in... who knew! Such an original theme

that allowed us to discover some stunning shots and top-notch organization. Thanks to everyone! Alright... one last little one... in Burano

It's amazing! You should've entered it in the contest...

😉 this photo would definitely get some votes....

Thanks to both of you, but I didn’t feel like it took me anywhere—it could’ve been taken anywhere!

Congrats Catherine for taking first place 🙂, I loved this photo as soon as I saw it! Congrats to the other winners too 🙂 For once, I got the top three in order! I think this is the first time ever.

I’m sorry I won’t be able to follow February’s contest as closely as I’d like—you’re going to put together something great—but I’ll check it out when we find some Wi-Fi.

Thanks to Kola for the theme and Masterpo for the slideshow touch.

Good luck with the February and March contests, everyone 😉

Hello!

The laundry’s done, and February’s new theme is up and waiting for you right here! 🙂

A belated but sincere bravo to you!!! And I'm off to check out the theme waiting for us for 28 days (+1!)

Well done and thank you! 🙂

I’ll head over to the new thread!

I’m bumping this post to announce that, following the acquisition of Voyage Forum by the MyAtlas group, the new management has reopened the forum and the friendly contests have resumed.

You’ll find this month’s theme here!

Welcome back! 🙂

Was it my photo of socks drying against a white wall in Nazaré that made you think of this old contest?
