Martinique or Guadeloupe in October?

Djackx67 · 2020-08-12

Hi there, the title says it all. I’m thinking of heading over there in October, even though my main goal is Dominica—but I’m not sure if the island is open to tourists yet. Anyway, I don’t know the Caribbean islands at all, so are Martinique and Guadeloupe very different? In terms of population, prices, beaches, activities, etc.? And of course, all this assuming we don’t go back into lockdown by then… Thanks in advance

Hi there, Dominica reopened to tourism in June, I think. You’ll need to keep a close eye on the updates. Check out the local news on Guadeloupe 1ère online—it’ll give you an idea of the health issues on the islands. You might run into not just lockdowns, but rather *compelling reasons* requirements!

I don’t know Martinique well enough (never lived there) to tell you about it. I’ve lived in Guadeloupe twice. It’s truly my favorite.

Hi, Someone suggested this route for a short catamaran cruise in Guadeloupe. Any feedback or opinions? Thanks
