The Etrembières footbridge to Annemasse

claudio didn’t get its purpose: no secure bike access and it leads to a sketchy path through a grim commercial zone that’s really tough to ride on at the exit. Anyone have an explanation?

What I understood: - another way to cross the Arve River - the bridge is dangerous for bikes and pedestrians - the footbridge offers a viewpoint on the right bank with a panoramic view - securing and ensuring the drinking water supply for the Greater Annemasse area by hosting a major drinking water pipeline from the south. - a link in the Viarhona route, which ultimately aims to provide new safe itineraries by reducing the barriers caused by the Arve, railway lines, and high-traffic roads.

I went back there I’ll keep an eye on how it evolves in the neighborhood I’m still skeptical though

Getting out of the area toward Etrembières is a bit chaotic but maybe there’s a project in the works?

another footbridge along the Arve River in Annemasse will be used on the Viarhona Bis cycling route: it will go from Machilly to Annemasse and Saint-Julien
