First solo trip to Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi

Hi there! So happy the site is back up—it’s amazing, really!! I’m heading to Thailand solo for the first time, from February 22, 2025, to March 8, 2025: - 3 days in Bangkok - 4 days in Chiang Mai - 4 days in Krabi What are your must-do activities?! In Bangkok, you should stay near the Chao Phraya River. All the sights are along it.

In Chiang Mai, stick to the heart of the old city or very nearby.

For Krabi, head to an island! Avoid Ao Nang or Krabi town.

Bangkok has no shortage of cultural sights. Stay near the river or in the Sukhumvit district.

For Krabi, the town/village is really just a transit stop, so find a hotel close to the beach and plan an activity outside the city every day, like:
