Crossing Panay and Negros to reach Cebu with kids

Hi everyone! We’re spending a month in the Philippines from mid-December to mid-January. We’ll be taking a flight from Cebu to Boracay for some kitesurfing. After that, we were thinking of heading back to Cebu Island via public transport or taxi, crossing Panay and Negros, and then going to Moalboal, Bantayan, and Malapascua. Do you think it’s worth crossing Panay and Negros? We’ve heard there were floods on Negros, and Google Maps shows that the volcano on Negros is erupting, so I don’t think hiking it is an option. Getting to Cebu by public transport or taxi from Boracay will take a lot of time, and you only have 4 weeks. It’s doable, of course, but might be tedious for the kids. Alternatively, you could go to Dumaguete, take the ferry from Sibulan to Liloan, then a bus to Moalboal. You can reach Hagnaya and then Bantayan via the west coast of Cebu, and afterward, Malapascua. You can also go kitesurfing on Bantayan Island. Have a great trip

To clarify, ferry from Iloilo to Bacolod. Bacolod to Sipalay, then Sipalay to Dumaguete. Possibly stop at Malatapay to go to Apo Island.
