Getting around with the GRAB app in Malaysia

Marijose7 · 2024-11-22

I'm heading to Malaysia in March and I'd like to know if it's possible to find a GRAB to go from Mersing (I'll be coming from Tioman) to Kuala Lumpur Airport? Any idea of the time and price? Thanks

it’s a really long trip—4 hours on the road, not counting the traffic jams when you get near KL—so it’s not obvious a driver will take the ride, risking coming back empty. But if you find one, it’ll probably cost around a hundred euros, a bit more for a taxi.

otherwise, you can arrange transport in advance with a transport company. It’ll cost you 200 €, but you won’t spend hours waiting for your ride to be accepted.

another risk is missing your boat for whatever reason and then missing your flight right after that.

Thanks so much. I figured it would be complicated. I’ll go with a transport company, but I’m not sure where to look.

Thanks a lot. I figured it would be complicated. I’ll use a transport company, but I’m not sure where to look.

Hi there, Try the Rome 2 Rio website (app available). I use it regularly for my trips when traveling.

I just installed the app, and sure enough, I’m finding taxis starting at 120 €. You’ll probably need to book in advance. Thanks a bunch
