Hi everyone,
This isn’t a travel journal. I’m borrowing an idea from someone else who, a few years ago, thought of starting a thread to share their archived photos of this country.
I’ll be posting here from time to time—some less old, let’s say more or less recent, images.
With little or no commentary. Just for the fun of it.

Great idea!
Where did you take the photo?

I’m sharing one that’s a bit unusual. Loy Krathong in Nong Bua Lamphu last year.
Alright, long live the forum!

Kids' swimwear collection.
Style-wise, it's not quite there yet...

Yeah, Joรซl, that’s a good idea...
I’d prefer text without images... ๐
When I saw the title, I was pretty sure it was you who started this "travel journal"...

Does anyone know how to upload a photo under 2000 pixels?
It’s not working, ugh :/

Hi Joรซl,
Well, here I see that Thailand has nothing to envy India or Nepal!
I’m not sure if photos from those countries in the same vein would fit here in Thailand...

A journey within a journey.
For non-smokers, it’s also available in brownie or cookie form.

Swimsuits, kids' collection.
Fashion-wise, it's not quite there yet...
Hi,
You were lucky—maybe it was aimed at Muslims—because for Buddhists, they usually bathe in their clothes and change into dry ones afterward.
Otherwise, still some great ideas from Jojoone the First. ๐
Best,

When you start writing a post, a little further down, where you can insert photos, you’ll see this note: Note on photos: In the “Travel Journals” section, uploaded photos must have a width or height of at least 2,000 pixels.
There are several other discussions where this topic comes up and where VF explains why this change was made—around 2016/2017, if I remember correctly. Officially, it’s so images look sharp enough on large screens.
Technically, there are ways to edit photos so they’ll work.

Technically, there’s a way to process photos so they’ll go through.
Not really, Joรซl—it all depends on the original pixel dimensions... You *can* technically "lighten" a photo, but you can’t do the reverse without the photo turning out really poor quality, blurry, etc., if it’s too small to begin with...

It works better with a recent photo!

Hi there,
You’re mistaken about the thread for posting photos. The correct one is here:
https://voyageforum.com/forum/souvenirs-thailande-d10035489/As mentioned at the start, I created a new thread to post my more recent photos. The idea was to keep the recent ones separate from the existing thread, which is specifically for older photos.
Somewhere in Thailand
Attila · 2024-12-15
The photos in both posts are memories...
And the other post isn’t specifically about antiques.
Your post says:
I’ll be posting some less old images here from time to time—let’s say more or less recent.
“More or less recent” is pretty vague...๐
For me, this is old.
What years are the photos you’re looking for from?
Post-Covid?

Making people happy—isn’t that one of the ideas behind this forum?

When I wrote "I’m offering" instead of "I’m proposing to you," it was really just for my photos.
It was meant to temporarily replace my travel journals, saving me from long writing sessions. A kind of big-picture view, image by image, in my own style.
Okay, I didn’t say anything when others posted theirs, but I should’ve thought of it and created an extra thread for community contributions.
No big deal, it’s fine—maybe it’ll even work better for those browsing for fun.

Attila · 2024-12-15
Well, you can just ask the mods to delete this topic and repost your thread in the travel journal section. ๐

When I wrote "I suggest"
Hi there,
I know your unwavering optimism as a "forum regular," and I truly respect that...
Unfortunately, it’s clear that in almost every thread, people post without reading others’ messages. The same info gets repeated over and over, sometimes back-to-back, but do you think it bothers even one person?
The person who just gave you advice doesn’t even care that they could delete their post within 2 hours.
This isn’t an isolated case...๐
Even if it existed before the forum went on hiatus, it seems much worse since it came back.
Best regards,
Partirdeloin

A travel journal can be just photos!
I’d just call it a photo album, plain and simple ๐

I posted my photos last night, while the other contributors did so much earlier.
So now it’s impossible for us to delete our messages so only jojoone1’s remain, now that the topic’s been clarified.
Afterwards, if a mod swings by, they can clean things up and leave only jojoone1’s photos and the messages without photos or links to photos posted by others.๐

Ladies and gentlemen (I’m addressing everyone concerned), I’m sure you all enjoyed posting those photos, and I don’t think anyone will see a major issue with it.
Don’t worry about it at all.
I’m sure more than a few people will be happy to see all these images—ones we rarely or never get to see on other forums.
If one day we hit the limit because several of us are adding great shots, I think VF won’t mind opening a new thread.
Meanwhile, business is back in the Kingdom of Siam. Tourists are returning, new expats too, it seems, and in some areas, they’re clearing brush, excavating, and digging—even as just a few steps away, many ongoing projects remain stalled, neglected, or abandoned.
All with the prospect of new local millionaires who’ll spend big to import their Mercedes or Porsche from abroad. And just as many bankruptcies because the project won’t have lived up to expectations.
