DPD Carnet or ATA Carnet for West Africa

We’re crossing West Africa all the way to Togo. Is a DPD carnet required, or is an ATA carnet enough? Where can I get one? I’d love some advice from seasoned travelers on this. Thanks

Hi there, Yes, the ATA Carnet is sufficient to enter Senegal if the vehicle is over 8 years old. For other countries, if it's just transit, you just need to specify this to the Chamber of Commerce (in your department) when applying; the transit sheets (blue) are included in the ATA Carnet. Safe travels!

Thanks for your reply! Our vehicle is 5 years old, so I’ll look into an ATA Carnet. Best regards,
