Getting around the Cyclades islands in Greece

Hi there.

I’m looking for feedback from travelers or tips from locals on how to get around the islands. There are four of us—two teens—and my partner isn’t super comfortable riding a scooter. So, should we rent a car? By the day or for 4 days on each island we’re visiting (Tinos, Paros, Syros)? Is it possible to rent e-bikes? Is that a good idea?

Hi again, you can visit Syros and Paros by bus, with excellent service in season (until midnight in Paros). Check the KTEL websites: ktelparou.gr and ktelsyrou.gr. Otherwise, for car rental: galissas-rentacar.gr in Syros and ML Moto&Rent a car (motorland.gr) in Naoussa or parosrentacar.com in Paroikia. On Tinos, with 60 villages and the mountainous barrier of Exombourgo, a car is essential for exploring the northern part of the island. vidalis-rentacar.gr is well-regarded. E-bikes are now available everywhere, but: no bike lanes and on Tinos, the wind will sweep you away. Note that no rental company allows transporting the car from one island to another, except for the Paros-Antiparos crossing, but that’s a small ferry, not a regular ferry. Rental companies deliver to the port and allow you to leave the vehicle there when you depart. Have a great trip!
