Help with 12-day Peru itinerary

Hi there, I’m reaching out to get your thoughts on an upcoming trip to Peru. The issue is that I unfortunately don’t have enough time to do everything. I’ve put together four itineraries and would love your feedback on them.

Hey, I think there's a mistake: Paracas is a coastal town you reach from Pisco. From Pisco, you can visit the Ballestas Islands and possibly go to Paracas. So it seems tough to visit Puno and Juliaca at the same time. Also, be careful—getting to Cabanaconde, which is near Colca Canyon, still takes a few hours by minibus, so plan at least 3 days to see the canyon.

Otherwise, there’s also Chauchilla near Nazca.

Good evening, I’m sorry, but mixing the 4 options makes it hard to follow... I’m trying to understand, but I’m struggling. Could you post each of the 4 options separately? For August 16th, are you torn between going to Puno or Paracas? In the second case, you’d do Arequipa and then head to Cusco? Yeah, that sounds like a good option. After the Sacred Valley, you could head toward Lake Titicaca. I’d recommend staying in Llachon rather than Puno. The Capachica Peninsula is really stunning, and you can visit the Amantani and Taquile islands. Traveling in this direction will help you adjust better to the altitude. Going from 0 to 4,000 m can be really harsh and cause altitude sickness (soroche). Even after stopping in Arequipa first, we had acclimatization issues in Puno (and it’s really not fun!) Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I think you're right—I'll focus on Huacachina and Cusco and really enjoy the trip instead of trying to see everything in a rush. I’ll probably save Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca for a future trip to connect with Bolivia.

Phew, you're right—it's really not clear! I posted a table, and it ended up mixing up all my 4 options. Thanks for trying to make sense of it all, haha!

I'm wondering if I should skip Lake Titicaca and Arequipa to enjoy the trip more instead of trying to see everything. I even think it might be worth planning another trip later to combine Lake Titicaca with Bolivia. My original plan was to go to Arequipa to acclimate, but with the little time I have, it’s still a lot of travel.
