Itinerary dilemma in Louisiana and Texas

After days of reading, I've put together the following route... the issue is that we can't find many travelers who've done this exact itinerary. We've already done a road trip on the West Coast.

What do you think? Too much time spent in some stops, not enough in others? Could I get your thoughts?

Good evening Gaetano, I went through there in August 2022. Road trip in the Midway. Loop from Chicago to Chicago. Passing through South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas (Dodge City) and (Meade) the Dalton Village for that Western vibe. Then I arrive in northern Texas in Amarillo—a nice city where I spent 2 nights. Next, Fort Worth with its magnificent WESTERN setting—it’s really COOL at the Stockyards. We stayed at Motel 6 (recommended to drive around the neighborhood). We ate at a good, upscale Mexican restaurant. Visited the "Amon Carter Museum"—a gorgeous museum, and it was a Thursday. We passed by Dallas. Headed toward Lafayette in Louisiana—448 miles, about 7 hours of driving. Stopped at a rest area in Frierson. Visited Lake MARTIN by boat—meet-up at 4:30 PM (beautiful lake). We stayed in a CAJUN house. Saturday morning, visited the OLD CAPITOL in Baton Rouge—a French monument. We arrived in New Orleans in the afternoon and spent 2 nights in the city, including an evening in the French Quarter. We stayed at the Prytania Park Hotel near St. Charles Avenue. The next day, we left for Natchez via an impressive elevated highway. Louisiana is one big swamp. Then, on Tuesday, we headed toward Memphis—though it felt a bit lacking in atmosphere. That evening, we left to sleep in Mississippi in a colonial house in Holly Springs. Wednesday in Lynchburg near the Jack Daniel’s distillery—a pretty village with landscaped parks. The next day, we passed through Normandy County—it’s a huge garden with other distilleries. We arrived in NASHVILLE, the Country Music Capital, in the afternoon. One of my best memories from my 3 trips to the United States. Such a beautiful city with an extraordinary atmosphere for a Thursday night. We stayed at the "Knights Inn Nas" near the Cumberland River. We walked the route, crossing a bridge over the river. Stunning views of the city, day and night on the way back. Visited the capitol and the surrounding park with a replica of a Greek monument. Then, finally, the Country Belle district—great vibes, very laid-back. Lots of country bars (including Johnny Cash’s amazing bar). Young people partying in buses and even tractors on the streets of the neighborhood. Anyway, it’d be a shame to skip Nashville. Not much time in NOLA, that's a shame.

For Graceland, I spent 5 hours 30 there! And for Beale Street, it's really in the evening that it's at its best. Otherwise, there are plenty of music museums.

Between Memphis and Dallas, it's nearly 7 hours of driving. It's flat and a bit dull. Worth considering.

For Texas, I don’t know it, so I’ll refrain from commenting.
