Global tourism in 2024 saw strong growth compared to pre-pandemic levels
In 2024, international tourism reached 1.4 billion arrivals, marking a return to 99% of pre-pandemic levels.
Among the fastest-growing destinations are Qatar (+137%), El Salvador (+81%), Saudi Arabia (+69%), Ethiopia (+40%), Morocco (+35%), Guatemala (+33%), and the Dominican Republic (+32%).
Tourism revenue hit $1.6 trillion USD, setting a new record. The upward trend is expected to continue in 2025, with growth estimated between 3% and 5%.
