The "Reading Suggestions" section...

... or when a well-intentioned initiative can turn out to be harmful.

Hi there, Why does highlighting a post in the "Suggestions" section result in it being removed from the subforum where it was originally posted?

If it's to draw attention to this worthy topic, wouldn't it be better to leave it in its original forum too, like "Destination + country" when it's a travel journal... ... and maybe add a special symbol next to the title (the opposite of the padlock, so 🤪) to show it's been featured?

Oh wow, this is crazy!

For example: Attila’s travel journal Northern Chile, Andean Impressions no longer appears under "South America," or—even worse—under "travel journals," and it’s not even mentioned in the profile anymore .

Just so you know, and I’m probably not the only one, I never check the "suggested reading" section because I honestly think I’m old enough to choose what I want to read. So, I would’ve totally missed the journal mentioned above .

The issue you mentioned only occurred with the latest reading suggestion due to a mistake by a new moderator. It’s been fixed.
