India: Taxi fare from Delhi to Rishikesh

I need to get to Rishikesh (staying with a local) from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi next Sunday. Does anyone know the average fare for long-distance taxis on this route? The trip takes about 4-5 hours. Thanks! 😊

I paid 6,000 rupees for the same distance in Kerala. We noticed that the rates were higher there than in the north. Starting from Delhi, you should be able to get a better price. You can take a prepaid taxi from a small counter at Delhi Airport, which should (in theory) give you the fair rate.

I’m just back—easiest to book with Uber, no time wasted negotiating and you know the fare. Same for short trips in a tuk-tuk. Example: Delhi to Agra around 25-30 €, then Agra to Jaipur around 45-50 €, and Jaipur to Jodhpur 85-90 €. Return flight 75 €/pax with checked luggage and first row
