Connection time in Bangkok from Phuket to CDG

Hi everyone,
I could use your advice. We’re traveling as a group of three with AF return tickets from Bangkok to Paris CDG, departing at 11:30 AM from Suvarnabhumi. I’d like to arrive the same morning from Phuket on a flight that lands at 8:55 AM. The tickets were booked separately, but since we’re at the same airport and only have handbags and carry-on luggage, does this 2.5-hour connection seem reasonable to you?

Good evening,
Honestly, no, but it’s doable if your flight from Phuket isn’t delayed. You’ll need to check in via the Air France website and have your boarding passes on your phones the day before. Then, head back up to the departures level (top floor) to go through the formalities again. Are you flying with a low-cost airline from Phuket? That’s important because low-cost flights often have delays, especially in bad weather. Generally, they recommend 3 to 4 hours between two flights with separate tickets.

Hi there,
It’s gonna be pretty tight, even if you don’t have checked luggage.
Because in Bangkok, you’ve got to go through security and immigration.
Flight’s at 11:30 AM, boarding closes 30 minutes before departure.

Hi,
It’s not reasonable... the ideal is to arrive 3 to 4 hours early.
As mentioned in another post, imagine if your Phuket-Bangkok flight is delayed by 1 hour?
You should change your flight or airline... otherwise, book seats at the front to save time

Hi,
Possible if the airline handling the pre-flight to BKK has partnership agreements with AF. In that case, baggage check-in all the way to Paris and immigration formalities can be done in Phuket*, and in BKK you’re just in "transfer" mode—2.5 hours is enough if there’s no delay.
Otherwise, I agree with the posts above.
*since it’s an international airport.

A huge thank you to everyone for your feedback. It’s unanimous, and you all seem so well-informed that I didn’t hesitate—I booked a flight the day before. All that’s left is to find a hotel at the airport.
Thanks again for your great tips and kindness.

Hello,
Good resolution—there are plenty of hotels around the airport.

I’d recommend the Cottage Suvarnabhumi Hotel. It’s budget-friendly, close to the airport, has an excellent Thai breakfast, a shuttle to the airport, decent bedding, a good little restaurant almost across from the hotel, and even a nice small pool.

Hi there,
A really good idea to find a hotel near the airport—most of them have shuttles that can take you to the hotel and back to the terminal for your return flight.
