Choosing a hotel in Las Vegas: need advice

Hi everyone,

I’ve been reading reviews of different hotels for 3 nights in Las Vegas, and now I’m totally lost ;) So far, within our budget, we’ve shortlisted: (in no particular order) - the New York New York - the Park MGM - the Planet Hollywood

We’ll be back for just one night in Las Vegas, and for that single night, we’re thinking of staying near the airport. The Luxor seems like a good option based on price—we want to splurge a bit more for the first 3 nights.

Our main priorities are cleanliness, and honestly, it feels like it’s hit-or-miss everywhere... Also, check-in seems to take forever at all these places, and since we land at 6 PM, by the time we get there... with the jet lag, the long check-in is really stressing me out... How’s the soundproofing at these hotels, by the way? We don’t need parking, and the pool isn’t a big deal for us :)

We’re open to other affordable suggestions!

Hi there, During our last trip to LV (2023), we stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Casino Royale–Center Strip. The prices seemed reasonable to us—it’s on the Strip but the hotel is set back, parking is included in the rate, no extra "fees" for any services, and the rooms (both on the way there and back) were clean, even if the hallways feel a little old-school. The location is convenient—you can walk around and easily return to the hotel if needed. No breakfast included, but there’s a diner nearby. Soundproofing is good, except when U2 plays at the Sphere, which was our case . The concert bass was noticeable then. Otherwise, no noise from the surroundings, the Strip, or the AC units. Check-in is in the ground-floor casino—it’s quick and available 24/7 (we did ours at 11 PM). It’s a bit unusual, but you only go through it once when you arrive and once when you leave. Staff is helpful and efficient. Happy searching!

Hi there This hotel seems to be closing at the end of April for renovations (demolition). It used to offer great value for money, really.

Hi there, Hotel choices in Las Vegas are so subjective that everyone will share their past experience—it’s a bit hit-or-miss, as you said... Of the three hotels you mentioned, Planet Hollywood seems like the best option because of its more central location compared to the others. Check-in and check-out can take a long time depending on the time or timing. Tip: sign up for a membership/gaming card on the Mgmresorts website (for MGM group hotels like New York, Park MGM for you) or on Caesars for Planet Hollywood, and you’ll be able to check in via the app and skip the lines.
