LUGGAGE is March's theme

From the most sophisticated suitcase to the bundle on your shoulder, from gear strapped to a motorcycle to bags on top of buses, what matters is capturing travel with luggage. Whether it's a stroll, an expedition, a simple outing, or a tour—anything goes, as long as the luggage is highlighted, of course 🙂 ........... Here’s my copy-paste:

Every VF member can submit up to 3 photos, until Tuesday, March 25 at 11:59 PM Paris time.

Each photo should be posted in a separate message, with its number (1, 2, or 3).

Don’t forget to add a little explanation (commentary, location, etc.).

Voting:

Every VF member can vote for the 3 photos they think are the best, based on their own criteria and the theme.

Voting will take place from Wednesday, March 26 to Sunday, March 30 at 11:59 PM Paris time.

Photos will be ranked in order of preference: - 1st photo: 3 points - 2nd: 2 points - 3rd: 1 point

The winner is the person whose photo receives the most points.

I’ll be away during the last days of March and won’t be very available, so the results will be announced on April 1st (no, it’s not a joke). And please, while I’m gone, be as well-behaved and disciplined as you always are 🙂

In case of a tie, the number of first-place votes will decide. The winner will have the honor of organizing April’s contest.

Hi there,

I was a bit thrown off by the changes and other extensions to the theme. For my own photos, I stuck with luggage/travel. Then I started seeing "loads," "burdens," and other "baskets" that didn’t really relate to the original topic. So, it’s been a bit hard for me to judge what fits the theme and what doesn’t. I’ll focus on the quality of the photos and what they evoke for me.

Rouquine, photo 1, 3 points A beautiful and fun travel photo with a clean composition—it brings back so many memories from my travels around the world.

Gaura, photo 2, 2 points. Another travel moment! A "decisive instant," as McCurry would say, right in front of the Palace of Winds. This could’ve gotten my 3 points, but it fits the theme a little less in my mind!

Ragamuffin, photo 2, 1 point. While I love the simplicity of Rouquine’s photo, I also love the chaotic vibe here! An image that really stands out—so representative of Asian countries.

I really liked Elhine’s #3 (but no luggage), Montagnard’s #2 (not enough space in front of the car), and AV31’s #2 (lovely colors but no luggage).

Here’s my vote:

3 points for Ragamuffin’s photo 2. We wanted luggage, and here it is in a lovely mess! 2 points for Gaura’s photo 2. Bundles and other heavy bags to carry. 1 point for Montagnard74’s photo 1. That mountain of luggage on the porter’s shoulders is impressive.

Like Kate, I was a bit thrown off by the changing theme, which probably dampened enthusiasm for this month’s contest—nothing to do with Dolma’s talent for hosting it, of course! 😉

AV31 photo 1: 😎😎 Similar vibe—I could practically smell the scents of Africa from here. And the people almost matching the truck? Pure class!

Ragamuffin photo 2: 😎 Such a mess deserves a point. I’d love a zoomed-out shot to get a sense of the boat.
