Connecting the Baltic capitals and tips

Hi there, I’m looking for some info on these capitals I’m visiting in September and the best way to travel between them, spending 3 days in each city: restaurants, weather, and maybe a French-speaking guide if possible. Thanks.

The easiest way is to travel by coach. There are regular routes, and a very well-known, fairly comfortable company: https://luxexpress.eu/en/ Online booking, Wi-Fi, restrooms, air conditioning, and even "first class" on some buses. There are also cheaper options with Ecolines. https://ecolines.net/

Rail Baltica is currently under construction for train travel.

For flights, Tallinn Airport is nice and convenient—you can even walk there. There are frequent flights between the Baltic capitals starting from 70 €.

Hi Pépite, I traveled through the Baltic countries from Vilnius to Tallinn by bus... so the info provided by Tatra is highly recommended. I spent 4 days in each capital, taking my time. It was early July, and my foldable umbrella came in handy.

I can’t give you precise restaurant recommendations—my trip was over 15 years ago. I do remember that in Tallinn, there were more alcohol shops than restaurants!

The Art Nouveau facades in Riga were stunning. I explored them almost one by one with a guide from the tourist office. There’s an article on Art Nouveau in Riga on Wikipedia—all the addresses are there.

Rail Baltica runs between Vilnius and Riga. It's direct and takes just over 4 hours.

You can also travel by train between Tallinn and Riga. However, you’ll need to change at Valga (Valka in Latvia). If you're not in a hurry, it might be worth it. Otherwise, opt for the bus.
