Is Anse Royale in Mahé a good place to stay?
Knardo · 2025-03-14
Hi, we’re heading to the Seychelles at the end of April—2 adults and 2 kids (9 and 11 years old). We’ll be spending 3 nights in Mahé, 3 in Praslin, and 6 in La Digue. For Mahé, is staying in the southeast, around Anse Royale, a good idea? We’ll have a car and want to be close to beautiful beaches. Thanks

Hi Stéphanie,
I’m heading to the Seychelles in a week, and we’ll be staying in Anse Royale on Mahé.... unfortunately, I think it’ll be too late to share my thoughts by then 😕
We were looking for a pretty quiet spot (we’ll also have a car, so the rest of the island will be relatively accessible). From what I’ve seen, there’s the Souris islet near the beach for snorkeling.
I think (and hope) it’ll match what we’re looking for.
Happy planning!

Hi Muriel, thanks for your reply. I’m really torn—I’ve got four places in mind: one at Pointe au Sel, another at Anse aux Pins, one more at Tusculum Beach, and the last at Beau Vallon. They’re all around the same price, about 400 € for 3 nights for 4 people. Not an easy choice! Safe travels

Hi Stephanie,
I loved the whole Anse Royale area.
Beau Vallon—I stopped by one afternoon and really didn’t like it. Very built-up and packed with Russians who come to party while...
Yeah, I’m rambling 😅
With a car, Anse Royale is ideal for me because it’s so peaceful and close to everything since the distances are short.
Happy travels! 😊

I really loved Anse Royale 😊. It changes colors all day long, and there’s a little island right in front where you can see tons of colorful fish 😍. In the morning in March 2022, it was super peaceful 😍.

Hi Stephanie,
In my opinion, the southern area is the best place to stay, whether it's around Anse Royale or the southwest side.
3 nights will fly by since the island is quite large.
Have a great trip!
