Camera Fee at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, India

Does anyone have recent info on the camera fee amount at Tadoba-Moharli? We spent 8 days there in the second half of February, and the local tour operator (The Wild Cat Eyes) collected 2000 rupees per camera per safari without any receipt—totaling 240,000 rupees (~265 €) for 12 safaris (9 in core zones and 3 in buffer zones). The signs at the park entrance listed 250 rupees, and the tour operator ignored our requests for an official park receipt.

Hi, back in November it was 250 rupees per camera per safari. Do the math. I hope you paid 24,000 rupees and not 240,000. Best,

Since Tadoba is "my backyard" (I visit three times a year), just like Tanzania is yours, I’ll answer your question. Of course, you can see tigers—it’s one of the parks that has developed the most over the past 15 years. There are many gates (over 20), each allowing access to different zones (with vehicle limits ranging from 8 to 40). You might also spot leopards, sloth bears, sambar and chital deer, gaurs (Indian bison), antelopes (nilgai), dholes (wild dogs with a uniform brown coat), jackals (rare), and plenty of birds. The landscapes, aside from a few areas, aren’t as stunning compared to other parks in India. The speed limit is strictly enforced at 30 km/h, which can be an issue for the larger zones. From late March to mid-June, tiger sightings are much more frequent (for example, last year in late May to mid-June, we saw tigers on 33 out of 36 safaris). Everything is dry... Best regards,

Thanks for the info, Didier. I’m a total newbie when it comes to India—just one 15-day safari (in the original sense, safari = trip) and fourteen game drives (= Indian safaris), which was enough to get us hooked!
