Name issue on a child's flight ticket

Hi, I have to leave for Bali and I’ve got a problem. We’re traveling as a family, but when my partner filled out our daughter’s ticket, they only put one last name, even though she has both—mine and her dad’s—on her passport. I tried to fix it to make sure everything’s correct, but the airline won’t do anything about it. Do you think this will be an issue at boarding?

I don’t think it’ll actually cause a problem. Which name is on the machine-readable zone of the passport, between the angle brackets?

Okay, the agency told us it wouldn’t work (with a "you can cancel your ticket or get a new one" 🏢), same with Emirates over the phone. So I sent my partner to the airport to talk to a real Emirates person, and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. We’ll give it a try—I’ll let you know if it works or not. Have a good day!

The agency or airline on the phone never says anything else—they don’t take any risks, don’t take any initiative, and just want to make you pay again. Go ahead as is; if there’s a problem later, you’ll need to discuss it, really look closely at the ticket’s terms, any possible reissue fees, etc. So give us an update once you’re there!
