Mediterranean Costa Cruise - Great Tips for Excursions
Titi17870 · 2025-03-27
Hi everyone,
I’m new to this forum and I’m going on a Costa cruise in three weeks with my family (there’ll be 14 of us in total). The planned stops are: Barcelona, Palma, Ibiza, Palermo, Rome, and Savona.
Given the high cost of the excursions offered by Costa, I’m looking for tips and great deals. In your opinion, what are the best excursions to do at these stops? Which sites shouldn’t be missed?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Hi there,
If you type "stopover" and the name of the city you're interested in into the "Search" box at the top right of this page, you'll find plenty of answers.
Happy searching! !
Mediterranean Cruise with Costa - Great Excursion Tips

Hi there,
For Barcelona, take the city bus (around 5 € round-trip per person instead of 9 €/10 round-trip with Costa).
In Palma, the city bus is right outside the port.
For these two cities, there’s often a queue to board the city buses.
In Savona, the port is downtown, about a 10–15 minute walk from the aquarium and the C Ville. There’s a little tourist train near the aquarium (10 €/adult in 2023).
Rome: the port is in Civitavecchia, about 40 km from Rome.
Ibiza: didn’t go.
Happy cruising! mum49
