Whoa, the contest themes are getting pretty niche! Not sure we’ll be swamped with photos with a theme like this 😉 Personally, this is the kind of fish photos I’d have in stock—does that count?

Yes, it's really good, it's making me hungry—I'm drooling! 😛

Before I dig through my notes, I’ve got a question.

Is this theme for April Fool’s Day or for the whole month?🙂

No, no, we're gonna be flooded with tons of fish photographed from every angle in every market in the middle of nowhere !😉

Whales, sperm whales, porpoises, and dolphins are cetaceans, so they’re mammals and shouldn’t be classified as fish.

Yeah, Carassou’s right—cetaceans aren’t fish! Same goes for burdens, carts, pigs, and other goods—they’re not luggage either. But hey, inclusivity’s in the air these days...

You’ll find them at the fish stalls. I had some really colorful ones in Athens, but I lost my external hard drive, and 95% of my photos :(.

A fish on a fabric in my kitchen works just fine for me.

No, ever since I had a problem with the memory card I had in Romania and came home without any photos, I offload and format it every night. Well, I’m making progress the hard way: now I have 2 external hard drives!

Fish is my sign 😉 I could’ve collected them, but I don’t do collections.

I had two in a bowl: Danton and Robespierre. They ended up in the toilet, victims of a strange illness—black rings around their eyes, they looked like the Beagle Boys. I quickly bought two more before my son got home from school. They lasted two days, floating limp at the surface, bellies up, in front of a heartbroken kid. End of the fish story.

Still in the "drying" category, here in Nazaré (Portugal). But this was back in 1984, and I doubt this activity still exists today.

This parrotfish was just pulled out of the water on a beach on Rodrigues Island.

So after digging through my hard drive over and over, one thing’s clear with this month’s theme: I’m a true mountain person. Because the only fish I found there were at the bottom of a plate. 😕 So I’ll sit this one out, but I’ll definitely cast my vote! !

Among the myriad of small trades scattered along the side of the Saint-Aubin collegiate church in Guérande, there’s the fisherman and his bronze or rusted fish.

Drying seems to be a very common preservation method in Thailand. Given the temperatures, it seems healthier to me.
