Is it possible in Cinque Terre to do the village walk without getting off the small boats? Sea view. A bit limited by the stopover time on our cruise. Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
I hope others understand my question better, but how can you do a "village walk" while staying on a boat, whether it's small or large? 😉

Hard to do a "village stroll" while staying on a boat, whether it's small or big...😏
I guess the idea is to just pass by the villages from the sea and take photos from the boat(s).
So, if I understood correctly, the question is: do cruise boats pass close enough to the villages, or should I bring a telephoto lens for my photos? 😛

Hi there,
You can indeed take a small boat that runs along the different villages with options to stop.
You’ll find all the schedules and prices online.

Hi there,
Taking a boat is definitely the way to go—it’s *much* more beautiful than the train.
Personal opinion after visiting the villages using both modes of transportation

Hello
What are the stopover times for your excursion?
A few years ago, we did it by train with stops in small villages, and we returned to La Spezia by boat, following the coast. Our stopover lasted until 8:30 PM.

I think you can go all the way to Monterosso by boat and take the train back to La Spezia.
Check the boat schedules and the train times.

Just a heads-up if you're taking the train—don’t forget to validate your tickets, because there are always checks and the fine is non-negotiable and hefty.... A couple traveling on the train didn’t know this and, even though they had a valid excuse (rightfully so, since you really have to hunt for the validation machines in small towns), the inspector wouldn’t budge at all...
Consider yourselves warned.....
