What accommodations for the Douaniers trail from Vannes to Saint-Nazaire?

Accommodation is the biggest downside of the GR34 in my opinion. And that goes for many other GR trails too... There aren’t many places to stay, and they’re often expensive. Not to mention that some hosts only rent for a minimum of two nights. If you’re planning to start in spring or summer, it’s a good idea (even necessary) to book in advance.

Two years ago, in June, I walked the Crozon peninsula (GR34 starting from Landevennec). I combined bookings from accommodations listed in my topoguide and Airbnb rentals. Booking a month in advance turned out to be tricky—and sometimes really pricey (two nights for 120 €!!). Prices will likely be high in the Gulf of Morbihan too.

I live along the GR34, but on the northern coast of Finistère. I can confirm that it's mostly big, overpriced hotels like the "Penguin Route"—nothing to do with the local vibe, plus the luxury here... well, anyway.

A few years ago, I hiked the Pink Granite Coast alone and camped in the evenings. I had a small tent with me. Otherwise, Couchsurfing and Warmshowers are still options. Personally, I don’t mind hosting people, but!!!!!! you’d need to meet me on the coast first.... But if you’re bold, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work—I think we’re pretty welcoming here, not quite Iranian *tarof* levels, but still 😉
