In Cairo, we had a French-Egyptian driver who speaks perfect French. I contacted him via Facebook—his name is Hoss Refat.

In Luxor, we had a great driver who speaks English instead, and he was really lovely: Hamada Hassan Mohamed Gadelrab: +20 10 079 43332. If he’s not available, he’ll find you someone else you can trust. He arranged our hot-air balloon flight (avoid scheduling it on the last day of your trip, as flights can be canceled due to weather). He also has a felucca in Aswan and can organize a cruise for you.
