Brussels Airlines connection with a 5th-grade class

Hi, I’m traveling with a 5th-grade class next Wednesday. We’re flying to Brussels with Brussels Airlines. Then, 1 hour and 15 minutes after landing, we take off again with the same airline to Prague. (We’ll all have carry-on luggage.) We have two different flight numbers since it’s two flights, but... in 1 hour and 15 minutes, will we have to go through security again, or since it’s the same airline, will we just switch planes? Or maybe it’s even possible it’s the same aircraft? Thanks for your answers. Teacher Bérengère.

Hi, In Brussels, you’ll be "in transit," so you won’t have to go through security again. If I’m not mistaken, all intra-EU flights are in the same sector (Sector A). You’ll just need to change gates—like arriving at gate 40 and leaving from gate 58. Just check the departure boards when you get there! Have a great trip

Hi, I confirm what Lescaribous said. However, it’s very possible that you’ll arrive at the non-Schengen terminal simply because the plane you’re on is departing to a non-Schengen destination. In that case, you’ll disembark the plane and go directly down the stairs to the tarmac, where buses will be waiting to take you to Terminal A. Once you’re back in that terminal, with no passport control, you’ll go upstairs and find yourself at the level for the different boarding gates. One more detail: if your boarding gate for Prague is between A20 and A39, then the gates are one floor below, and boarding will be by bus since the plane is on a remote stand. This is common for morning flights because Terminal A is split in two every morning, so the Schengen zone is smaller than usual. Hi, I think with all these details the transfer will be easy ;-) I assumed she’s leaving from Marseille on SN 3598 and then SN 2811. Today, the flight from Marseille was at gate A57 and the one to Prague at A60. With any luck, it’ll be the same tomorrow, so she won’t have to take the buses ;-) Anyway, I wish her a great trip and a wonderful stay in Prague—a city I only know by name! (A bit far from Montreal for a weekend visit 😛)
